Urban Policy Review

Editorial policy

Urban Policy Review aims to make urban policy understandable without flattening uncertainty or presenting a viewpoint as settled fact. Our editorial decisions are guided by clarity, accuracy and a visible distinction between explanation and opinion.

Accuracy and context

We check factual statements against suitable material available to the editors and give claims enough context to be understood. We distinguish established information from interpretation, describe uncertainty where it matters and avoid presenting general explanations as if they settle a local question.

Independence

Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial arrangements. A partner does not receive control over our conclusions, article selection or editorial wording. We may decline material or collaborations that would make that separation unclear.

Corrections

If a published item contains a material error, we review the issue and correct the text as appropriate. Readers can send a correction through the Contact page, identifying the article and the point they believe needs attention. We aim to make substantive changes clear rather than quietly leaving a known error in place.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid, commissioned or otherwise partner-supported material is labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Partner placements are identified clearly wherever they appear. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when used, they are treated as illustrations rather than documentary evidence.

Our point of view

Policy becomes real at street level.

We connect the language of urban decisions to the places people move through. A useful explanation shows both what a policy aims to do and what choices remain open.
